Montana Fly Fishing with Four Rivers Fishing Co.

Shoulder season specials: $425 guide trips – $100 lodging from Apr 1 – June 1 and October 1 – Seasons End

Montana Fly Fishing trips with the professional guides and outfitters of Four Rivers Fishing Company in Twin Bridges, Montana. Four Rivers Fishing Company has deep roots as the oldest Fly Shop w/ lodging accommodations in the Ruby valley.  Our shop is one of the finest in the state offering anglers a great selection of top quality flies and gear.  Our lodging accommodations are very spacious and are all equipped with HD TV’s, new bedding, and fully functional kitchens.  Join our world class guide crew for your fly fishing vacation on some of the world’s best trout rivers: the Big Hole River, Beaverhead, Madison, and the Jefferson in search of trophy rainbow and brown trout. Experience western river hatches like you have never seen, and some of the best dry fly fishing imaginable.

We all fish the same rivers, we pay the guides the same (+/- $25), and the lodging options are similar.  So the variable is the food and drinks?  We elected to forego paying a cook, getting you off the river early for expensive cocktails, sitting you down to eat and getting the cook off the clock.  Instead, you charge your breakfast and dinners to us at anyone of 8 excellent restaurants in the in Twin Bridges and the surrounding towns, and you pick up your own bar tab. We support our local businesses, they pay the overhead not you, and they are open whenever you get off the river!

  • Chris, Seth and the 4Rivers staff operate under a simple philosophy….”we don’t have clients, we have friends.”  That quote is spot-on and epitomizes the 4Rivers experience.  I have been fishing with Chris for over 10 years and truly consider him a close friend, a helluva guide and great person.  He is AWESOME with kids (my son adores him and his dog, Jefferson), he knows the area rivers like no one else and will give you the shirt off his back.  Case in point being when I left my fishing pack (with wallet inside) at a Madison River takeout last year.  Not only did Chris help my son and me in an exhaustive search, he insisted on loaning us money to finish out our vacation and get back home.  The pack was later found and returned, but it’s simply an illustration of what sets Chris, as a person, and 4Rivers apart from other outfitters.  Chris and Seth both possess an unbelievable knowledge of the area rivers, but more importantly, they are just no-nonsense, down-to-earth guys who come from great families.  And while I believe 4Rivers is the obvious choice to experience landing quality fish in spectacular scenery, I have found that simply spending the day on the river with Chris is what really counts.

  • Fly fishing possesses an inexplicable magnetism. Certain people are drawn to it so definitely they simply give up trying to define the attraction. Deeper than that, even, is the magnetic pull of special fishing areas, like Twin Bridges, Montana. I’ve been two days late for important events simply because I couldn’t bear to leave Twin Bridges and its surrounding waters. While I’ve been fortunate enough to fish with many excellent guides around the world, I can easily and enthusiastically say that among the most impressive are the experts at 4Rivers Fishing Company. Not only are they the area’s most knowledgeable, they also mix high-level professionalism with laid-back Montana hospitality. Owners Chris and Seth bring fresh energy to the fly fishing industry and work hard to make sure guests get the best experience possible. They maintain a coveted guide roster, set an example for proper river ethics and conservation, and their fly shop and reputation are spotless. They are eager to share their passion with anyone who rolls through, and I plan to be one of those people again this spring, summer and fall.

  • I have been fishing with Four Rivers Fly Fishing Company for the past five years, going twice this year and I am ready to book again for 2016, 2017 and beyond. Chris and Seth work hard to find your quality fish and they are two of finest people you will ever meet. Good fish and lots of them are a typical day on the most beautiful rivers in the west. Lots of laughs, great equipment, great guides and nice accommodations right in town with lots of river access that you can literally walk too. If you want real Montana Fishing adventure call these guys, they are the real deal.

  • John and I really enjoyed our stay at your campground and fly fishing with Seth!

The scenery was unbelievable and the fishing was great! Seth was a very capable guide who ensured that our fishing trip would provide memories for years to come. Without his guidance and knowledge I would have never landed that wonderful 30″ Brown Trout which was a thrill of a lifetime for all of us. The smile on Seth’s face when he netted that fish will always stay in my mind!

We hope to see you all again next year!

  • Although my dad had introduced me to fly fishing some 40 years ago on the Squanacook River in North Central Massachusetts (one of Ted Williams’ old haunts), I had packed away the fresh water gear some years ago for the heavier tackle employed by us offshore boys. My first trip was trip dead smack in the middle of the salmon fly hatch. That event changed my outlook on fresh water fishing profoundly. Since then I’ve returned to Twin Bridges on several occasions fishing different hatches as well as “shoulder seasons” where the rivers are less crowded and the true Montana spirit overwhelms. I’ve fished in polypropylene and bare chested and I can’t quite figure which is better. Any way you slice it, Four Rivers is my outfitter. Greg Smith guided me to a “grand slam” on the Big Hole while his leg was in a cast….. lots of guts and even more laughs. Quality lodging and hospitality are the norm and I’

  • Thanks for a very special day on the Beaverhead. My Dad and I got worn out catching  those big Browns. We will never forget how hard you worked for us that day. Watching you jump in and reach into the undercut to unsnag that 20 inch Brown, was something special.

  • Some days on the river stay with you long after the rods are put away for the year. Sometimes it is the fishing you remember, sometimes it’s the companionship, and for the lucky few, sometimes it’s both. The days I spent fishing with the Four Rivers Fishing Company were the best of both and were among the top river days I have ever had. The fishing was exceptional, the service was professional, without losing its sense of humor, and the entire experience was squared away. You need to fish with these guys.
